About the Artist

NATURE LOVER

Yolanda has built an artistic path shaped by curiosity, observation, and a sensitivity to the world around her. While obtaining her bachelor’s degree in fine art, her work on expressionistic landscapes focused on texture and color. Nature and travel still remain central sources of inspiration for her landscapes.  Her work explores her memories and feelings of place into layered, expressive works.

At one stage, Yolanda chose to step away from her art career to focus on raising a family. This chapter centered on teaching art to children through a school environment. The experience eventually led to becoming an art director and instructor of an afterschool art program and a community college summer art program. With her kids off on their own adventures, she now is returning to her art practice in both the studio and in plein air. Today, Yolanda creates with a renewed commitment of translating the natural world through color, texture and light. She enjoys her travels with her husband, Mr. Adventure.
